Today’s challenges require the utilization and application of geospatial technologies. Despite this, there are still a significant number of members of society that do not have time to pursue degree programs/courses in this field. Therefore, to meet the desire of many, who are interested in building their capacity on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Geospatial Technologies utilization, the TETfund Center of Excellence in Computational Intelligence Research (TCECIR) in collaboration with the Department of Geography and Natural Resources Management, University of Uyo propose twelve certificate courses to be hosted by the TETfund Center of Excellence in Computational Intelligence Research(TCECIR) in furtherance of the goal of the TCECIR to educate and build the capacity of individuals and organizations in the fields of computational intelligence.
The certificate in Geographic Information Sciences and Remote Sensing academically trains you to meet the challenges of today’s society by utilizing your knowledge of geography and geospatial technologies to help solve problems. The programs offer you the ability to develop your knowledge in either GIS and/or Remotes Sensing/Cartography to help you get a more specific knowledge base. In addition, the certificate enables you to gain a deeper knowledge of geospatial techniques without having to get a bachelor’s degree.
The certificate enables participants to better engage in their field and laboratory experiences by offering content knowledge that benefits the participants in one’s career. The skills gained through the coursework integrate participants’ knowledge to effectively collect information about the environment, people, and places to be able to analyze, research, and synthesize the information for the government and other uses.
