Vision, Mission & Mandate
Objectives of the Center
The overall goal of TCECIR is to invent and exploit modern techniques to address the development challenge–through high-quality, industrially relevant research that targets appropriate Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Specifically, TCECIR aims to educate and train Nigerians, Africans and African researchers in the field of AI – CI, data science, data mining, optimization and other AI paradigms, who will develop and deploy innovative intelligent services to address developmental challenges across all its high-priority domains.
The specific objectives are, to:
World-class research
Perform internationally recognized and world-class research in the analysis, design and application of CI methodologies to diverse problem domains.
MSc and PhD curricula
Develop/review MSc and PhD curricula in Computer Science and Computer Engineering; and improve infrastructure to promote cutting-edge research in the field of CI, data science, cyber security and big data analytics and other paradigms of AI.
Professional short-term courses
Build capacity through professional short-term courses in data science, cybersecurity, big data, machine learning and their applications; internships, exchanges and workshops.
Knowledge transfer
Transfer knowledge, products and expertise to the industry and attract funding through research projects.
Prototypes
Produce prototypes of intelligent hybridized models in priority areas to cater for the needs of society.
